Caboodles Childcare Center,

Aubertine and Currier provided design, bid and construction management services for the 6,000 sq.ft. state of the art childcare center, located at the Otis Technology Headquarters in Lyons Falls, NY. The facility includes bright colorful rooms for infants, toddlers, pre-school and school aged children. The center also features a 24' high atrium in the lobby with natural lighting from the dormers. Recessed reading nooks were incorporated into each classroom and project out from the building with large double hung windows on (2) exterior walls.
The design incorporated energy efficient Geothermal Heating and Cooling Systems with the latest T5 Fluorescent Ballasts for lighting. Aubertine and Currier Architects was awarded the project in January 2006 and regardless of the tight schedule the design was completed and the project was Bid in March of 2006. The construction was started in April of 2006 and the facility opened September 5th of that year. The total construction cost was $970,000 with a contingency of $13,000 (0.01%) being utilized to upgrade the windows that were in compliance with the building code but not with the office of Children and Family Services. The project was developed utilizing LEED principles.
