Roth Industries Blow Molder & Warehouse
Roth Industries is a family owned business established over 60 years ago in Germany that uses blow molding processes to manufacture plastic traffic guidance systems and double-wall oil-storage tanks for both private and commercial use. In 2016, an expansion project was completed at their Watertown, NY facility located at the City Center Industrial Park.
Aubertine and Currier Architects, Engineers & Land Surveyors, PLLC (A&C) was contracted then to provide Professional Design Services for the new blow molder plant and factory warehouse addition project that included the design and construction of a 16,800 sf pre-engineered storage building and two additional enlargements, totaling 10,900 square feet of space, to its existing manufacturing plant. The project also included an approximate 40,000 sf site expansion to the yard area east of the building additions, which included access to drives connecting yard storage and warehouse additions to Rail Drive.
In 2020 the facility underwent another major expansion project. The project included a 6,700 sf building addition on the west side of the existing manufacturing facility to house an additional piece of production equipment. This addition included the installation of 50’, bare steel helical piles for extra stabilization at the machine foundation and an expansion of the existing electrical room to meet the required electrical capacity to operate the new equipment. Site improvements included modifications to existing concrete aprons, storm drainage systems, and grading around the new building and addition. Alterations to the existing fence will be made for the locations of the new storage building. The new 10,000 sf storage building was constructed at the west side of the property to store metal parts in a dry, conditioned space. Accommodations have been designed for the future addition of a loading dock to this building.
