Key Project:
WWTI ABC50 Studio Renovation
Aubertine and Currier provided Architectural and Structural Design services for the renovation of an existing facility in Watertown's historic public square to house the new WWTI-ABC 50 location.
The renovation for the new station consisted of a complete demolition of the interiors of two adjoining commercial spaces. The new facility occupies approximately 7,500 SF of the existing 9,156 SF building. The space includes an enclosed vestibule and lobby with a reception and seating area, open layout office space for the sales department, and private office spaces to accommodate creative directors, sales managers and account executives. The open collaborative work area promotes a teamwork environment necessary for working in the entertainment industry. The work space is accompanied by a statement making conference room with large storefront glass panels, a huddle room, ample storage for sound and electrical equipment and an employee break room.
The true high light of the studio renovation was the installation of an advertising and recording studio, an audio room, a rack room for recording equipment, and a community engagement room. The studios were designed to align with high industry standards and are equipped with sound proofing technology. The finishes and lighting selected give the studio an open and modern feel that captures your attention as soon as you enter in the front door. Employees and guests are also greeted by ample natural lighting through an overhead skylight as they enter the building.
